Friends and Haunts
If any of these links are broken or need to be updated, please let me know.
50 Shades of Regret  -- A group of us who mix Sharpies and pages from used copies of FIFTY SHADES OF GREY to make (often horrible, sometimes poignant) new poetry.
Diana Blair Revell  -- Blogger and storyteller extraordinaire.
Inside the Writers' Studio  -- Funny doses of writer truth from RJ Keller and Kristen Tsetsi.
Kaolin Fire  -- Litmag writer, GUD magazine guy, and computer genius. Also, most personally generous being in the universe when it comes to tech advice.
Kathy Rhodes  -- Author of REMEMBER THE DRAGONFLIES and editor supreme. When I'm overbooked, Kathy is the first editor on my list to whom I'll refer extra clients.
Kitty Thomas  -- Author of dark literary erotica. Well-written story arcs, steamy scenes (very, VERY steamy), and totally NSFW. Not for the faint of heart or the easily offended.
Kristine Kathryn Rusch  -- Great stories, excellent advice, and some of the best business/publishing explanations you can read anywhere on the web. One of the very few blogs I keep up with religiously.
Laughter: Carbonated Grace  -- Blog by another of my best friends, Eileen Norman. She's hilarious, spiritual, irreverent, and thought-provoking -- sometimes all at the same time.
Logan L. Masterson  -- Writer, columnist on several topics, author of RAVENCROFT SPRINGS, and talented woodcrafter to boot.
Mandy Haynes  -- East Nashville free spirit, storyspinner, and sporadic crafter. Her Southern stories rock my world, and I'm not even from here.
Mark Steinwachs  -- Nashville writer-guy.
Nate Innomi  -- Self-described "literary scourge."
Nik Cubed  -- The blog of writer Nikki Nelson-Hicks. Somebody once called her "the unholy lovechild of Flannery O'Connor and H.P. Lovecraft." I think that says it all, really.
Precipice Books  -- Publishing house run by Todd Keisling, featuring horror shorts, novels, and more.
Scarlet Darkwood  -- Author of romance novels, including the series HOUSE TALES FROM THE ARCHIVES.
Susan Cushman  -- Writer, essayist, and, in my opinion, a deep well of emotionally intense creative nonfiction. I leave inspired every time I read her words.
Susie Dunham  -- Fiction and creative nonfiction writer, and blogger with a gentle, humorous spirit.
The Barefoot Farm  -- A working farm owned by Cathy Lynn (one of my best friends and my Inkwell Basics business partner.) Deep in the heart of Tennessee Amish country, the farm will be launching as a rentable event venue in the near future.
The Passive Voice  -- My number-one, hands-down favorite publishing blog. It's curated by a lawyer who knows his stuff, and the comment trails are filled with smart, engaging conversation and debates. As a freelancer, this is my office water cooler.
Todd Keisling  -- Good buddy of mine and author of THE MONOCHROME trilogy and the UGLY LITTLE THINGS series. He's my friend and all, but his stories completely freak me out. I recommend his work to anyone who likes suspense or horror... and not sleeping at night. Ever.
Tooth Soup  -- Blog of Phill English; writer, thinker, and all-around interesting chap.
TurnStyle Writers  -- Nashville editing and consulting firm run by Mary Buckner and Kathy Rhodes.
Zoe Winters  -- Author of many paranormal romance novels, and one of my favorite bloggers and indie-people.
Four Square Creative  -- My professional editing and design service. As scheduling permits, I accept clients who need help with book editing, press release generation, graphic design, and website creation and maintenance.
Inkwell Basics  -- Along with my cohort Cathy Lynn, I teach blogging and writing courses across the greater Nashville area. We focus on being clear, understandable, and non-intimidating. Our students range from mommy-bloggers and foodies to CEOs.
Inkwell Basics Meetup  -- The hub for our events and workshops -- join us to hear what's coming up next!
Nashville Writers Meetup  -- Our real-world writers' group with over 3,000 members. We started out as one small, general group, and quickly grew to need separate sub-genre groups run by multiple facilitators. We also promote our authors at festivals, signings, and other events.
Smash Cake Press  -- My publishing company. I look for sincere, passionately written things, and share them in print and/or ebook form. Current titles include several writing-prompt journals, an esoteric mood-tracking journal, and a memoir of faith from a Christian divorcee.
